Portfolio Website Design

For this brief I was approached by an audio production student who was in need of a portfolio website for the final stages of their degree. They were after a website that was clean and simple but still striking and unique so that the visual elements of their webpage would match their work as well as their personality. For the website design I chose to keep the overall composition fairly minimalistic and clean with blocky, san serif typography and round, stroked button appearances. To incorporate eye-catching, striking and visually interesting elements into the website design I decided to go with a navy blue and orange colour palette that was accompanied by two gradient patterns that utilised the existing colour palette. By adding in these bright, contrasting colours as well as the gradient patterns it breathes some life into the overall design, adds visual separation and hierarchy to the multiple elements and helps to showcase some personality through the overall composition. The client asked for more of a ‘base-line’ setup so they could add and remove elements/information as needed, so I gave them a fully editable Figma template that included placeholders for every element so they could customise any information without losing the webpages design or layout.
